16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions

SDG16 is about promoting peaceful nations and encouraging strong leadership which will deliver our needs

This goal promotes peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, and would provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels, while significantly reducing all forms of violence and related death rates everywhere.

Abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of children would be ended, while the rule of law at national and international levels would be promoted, ensuring equal access to justice for all.

By 2030, illicit financial and arms flows would be significantly reduced, the recovery and return of stolen assets strengthened and all forms of organised crime combated.

Corruption and bribery in all their forms would be substantially reduced, and effective, accountable and transparent institutions at all levels developed, while ensuring responsive, inclusive, participatory and representative decision-making at all levels and promoting and enforcing non-discriminatory laws and policies for sustainable development.
